The trim around and underneath your roof is known as soffit and fascia. They’re boards used to give your home a finished look once the roof is installed and the siding is up. What Are the Soffit and Fascia Boards?

Fascia is a long piece of flat wood that sits along the roofline to support your roof. It supports the shingles and is attached to the underside of the roof’s edges. Gutters are typically mounted along the fascia boards of a home.

Soffit is the board that you can see from in front or your house. It’s placed under your fascia board and can be ventilated. In stormy and windy climates, it stops wind from blowing water into your foundation.

We went through a 5-month back-and-forth with our insurance, and Columbia Contracting worked with them the whole process, all while keeping us informed. The contractors were professional & cleaned up thoroughly at the end, every representative of the company was on time, and we were kept updated regularly. The estimate itself was packaged up with aerial photos of our house, measurements, product descriptions, as well as an itemized list of the work needed with transparent pricing. Columbia Contracting redid our entire siding as well as repaired rotten fascia along our gutter. When they finished, management came back to check the work performed and address any follow up questions. We highly recommend them for their work, products used, and the personal touches of direct communication & transparent estimates.   Let's face it.  No one likes to spend money on things like roofs and gutters.  But Columbia Contracting makes it as painless as possible.  We recently replaced our roof and gutters and had some other exterior repair work done.  Columbia Contracting was terrific to work with.  They were prompt; they provided a clear explanation of everything they were going to do; their price was very fair; their work crews were professional and courteous; their work was terrific; and their cleanup work after they completed the job was thorough and amazing.   Last week we had our +20 year old deck removed and rebuilt by Columbia Contracting LLC. We absolutely hit a home run selecting this company!! This is a father and son company who truly represent a pride in ownership and practice a high level of customer service. Erwin (Son) represents the high customer service level from start to finish of the job. He is extremely professional, knowledgeable and just down right honest!
The removal of our original wood deck and the rebuild of a gorgeous up to date deck was completed in three days. Also had the company replace my old gutter above the deck. The crew was extremely organized, hard working and just really nice guys.   Very professional and courteous throughout the whole procedure to replace roof.  Definitely would recommend this company.  Here's a list of the process that I went thru:
1. Inspection:  Erwin was one of the few contractors that went above and beyond to inspect the roof - inspected both inside and out.  He went into the attic and took pictures, to see where leaks were, and took pictures outside as well.  Other contractors did not bother with this step. Most just did a calculation to give a more broad estimate.  And others just said, they would charge me whatever the insurance estimated.  That turned me off - why aren't you doing your own estimate?
2.  Materials:  He brought materials with him, to show all the type of material that would be used on the roof. Other vendors did not provide this level of effort.
3.  Estimate:  He provided a comprehensive estimate package - he provided pictures of the problem areas, and detailed description of what would be replaced, warranties, etc.  The packet was very informative, and I used that to submit to my HOA for approval.  The detail of the estimate, along with all the pictures of the property, made the submission to HOA very easy.
4.  Communication:  He sent both emails and text messages on estimated time frames, warranties, etc.  He was always responsive by text/emails when I had questions.
5.  Start of work:  The roof only took a full day to complete.  Had a full crew that worked non-stop.  Very effective/efficient crew.  He had mentioned it may take a day or two, depending if they found any problem areas that could not be seen.  Luckily, it was only 1 day.
6.  Final inspection:  Erwin provides a final walk thru before sending the final bill.  He requires that you pay half of the costs a day or two before they start work, and the rest of the costs once final inspection is done.  Invoice is sent via email.  I was a little concerned at first (because you always hear stories about companies ripping you off), but there was no issues with that.  I would definitely recommend this company.
